We begin the show about the global expansion of the sports betting world and the membership numbers of the two Facebook pages: Las Vegas Mafia History and Mob Summit. See show notes for links to join. How Jeff and Larry met and became friends. Larry describes who Jeff was, his deep respect for him, how he got to Las Vegas as he was a Wisconsin native. Jeff’s his ability to dig up stores because people trusted him that he would not reveal his sources. We hear clips from Jeff himself in relation to this.
The big stories Jeff reported on that include the 1980 MGM Grand Fire, Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting and writing a book on the death of Ted Binion. Jeff himself tells two stories about being hit in the mouth by a suspected Mob and sending Tony Spilotro a drink at a dive bar in Las
Vegas. National story when Jeff was murdered after investigating a Clark County Public Administrator Robert Telles, who is charged with murder in Jeff’s death and is being held without bail. Jeff wrote about alleged mismanagement, unlawful conduct, and bullying in the public
administrator’s office. Larry tells what he knows to date of the case which is set for trial in November of 2023.
